We built the tool
we wish existed.
Grocery prices in Malaysia are opaque, and that opacity costs ordinary families real money every month.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Idea
The question with no good answer.
Standing in the AEON aisle one afternoon, we looked at a "SALE" sticker on Milo at RM 18.90. Was that actually cheap? Did Giant have it for RM 2 less last week? There was no way to know. No app, no website tracked what Malaysian shoppers actually paid in-store, store by store, week by week.
Every price comparison resource we found tracked online retailers or manufacturer-set RRPs, not the real prices on real shelves at Giant, Tesco, AEON, Mydin, Jaya Grocer, or 99 Speedmart. The only way to build that database is from real receipts, collected by real shoppers. So we built Price Trails.

Built in Malaysia.
Price Trails is built by a small team of Malaysian developers and daily grocery shoppers. We created this tool because we needed it ourselves, and because we believe Malaysian consumers deserve better tools to make informed decisions at checkout.
Based in Kuala Lumpur. Focused on getting the grocery price tracking experience right locally before expanding further.
"Every Malaysian shopper deserves to know if a deal is real before they buy."
We are building the most comprehensive real-price grocery database in Malaysia, sourced from actual receipts, not manufacturer RRPs or estimates. Starting local. Staying honest.
